My Quick And Dirty Bookmarking Demon 4.1 Review

After a long development cycle, Bookmarking Demon 4.1 has finally been released. Edwin Brian, Bookmarking Demon’s creator has completely rewritten the program from scratch and created a social bookmarking tool that is far superior to its predecessor. It has a completely revamped user interface and some great new features that make bookmarking your sites easy and safe.

For people who haven’t used the program before, Bookmarking Demon is a Windows only program that makes it easy to create user accounts and save pages to social bookmarking sites. Bookmarking Demon supports bookmarking at over 20 major bookmarking sites, as well as the smaller Pligg, Scuttle, and Scuttle Plus sites.

Here are some of the benefits of using a social bookmarking tool like Bookmarking Demon:

Highly targeted backlinks - Each keyword you submit to a social bookmarking site creates its own page. So multiply the number of keywords, by the number of sites you submit to and that’s how many backlinks you’ll be getting.

Faster search engine indexing - This is especially useful for newly created sites. By utilizing the new Ping feature of Bookmarking Demon 4, you can notify the web crawlers right away to come to your just submitted site and index it in their results.

Higher position in the SERPS - Bookmarking Demon 4.1 currently supports twenty different social bookmarking sites. Most of these sites will give you high Page Rank, do-follow links. For example, Furl.net currently has a PR of 7, which will pass along a lot of link juice back to your site. The more one-way backlinks you have to your site, the higher position your site will rank.

The first thing you’ll notice in Bookmarking Demon 4.1, is that it features a brand new interface. Gone is the bland UI, and in its place is a more colorful and more friendly looking interface. The program is also more functional as everything can be done on the pages themselves which makes the whole bookmarking workflow more streamlined.

To reduce the chances of getting dinged for duplicate content, Bookmarking Demon 4 introduces a new syntax for bookmarking titles and descriptions. Now you can include text like: Macbooks are cool laptops and Bookmarking Demon will randomly choose one of those 3 words to include when bookmarking to a particular site.

A favorite feature of mine is Bookmarking Demon’s support of RSS feeds. In the preferences, you can choose different RSS feeds to add from your favorite sites (like CNN, Google News) and Bookmarking Demon 4 will take random items from these feeds to submit them along side your bookmarked pages. This lets you cloak your own sites, and decreases the chances that you get caught by a social bookmarking site for spamming your own content.

Another really nice feature is the pinging feature. Once Bookmarking Demon has finished submitting your sites, you can have it ping the newly created pages, along with your profile on a particular bookmarking site. This tells the search engines that a page has changed and it should send out its spiders to index this new info. This makes it extremely fast to get your sites indexed in the search engine results.

Bookmarking Demon 4.1 is a great new release from Edwin Brian. It is much easier to use than the old version, and it has a lot of nice useful features. If you are doing any SEO for your sites, Bookmarking Demon is a tool you need to have in your internet marketing toolbox. By using it regularly, you will get your sites indexed quickly, and increase their rank in the search results very fast. Although you could perform all these tasks by hand, Bookmarking Demon does it for you in an automated way. This saves you time, and as you know, time is money!
